Bulmer-Martin Shakespeare Press Roman (1821)
Description
A type cut by William Martin for William Bulmer and George Nichol of the Boydell Press (latterly the Shakespeare Press.) Daniel Berkeley Updike writes that, "William Martin cut some Greek and Oriental fonts, but he will be best remembered by his wonderful roman and italic--fonts skilfully employed by McCreery in his poem The Press (1803)--and the splendid form of modern face letter used by Bulmer in Dibdin's bibliographical works."
